ヤマカイとは?プロバレエダンサー兼YouTuberの魅力とNO SIGNとの出会い

Who is Yamakai? The Charms of a Professional Ballet Dancer and YouTuber, and His Encounter with NO SIGN

Yamakai is an expressive artist who, while being a professional ballet dancer, continues to share the allure of ballet through YouTube.

With over one billion views,
he has elevated classical ballet, a highly specialized field, into content that anyone can enjoy.

He has overturned the image of "ballet being difficult,"
and has garnered widespread support as someone who has brought it into everyday life.

He exudes an overwhelming presence on stage,
and naturally continues to share his passion in daily life.

This "duality" is a major charm of Yamakai's character.

A single story where quiet beauty intertwined

The encounter took place in January 2024.

It was at the
"First Aladdin The Ballet Show Miyazaki Performance" held in Miyazaki.

Just three months after NO SIGN was launched.
Furthermore, the following month, we were busy with preparations for the "NY NOW 100th" exhibition in New York.

Amidst all this, a business owner we regularly work with approached us with an invitation:

"A top YouTuber is performing ballet in Miyazaki, a place seemingly unrelated to ballet. It's definitely worth seeing for learning."

Encouraged by those words, I went to the venue.

That was my first encounter with Yamakai's Miyazaki performance.

I never expected to see such a professional stage production in a local theater.

From the moment I sat in the audience, the atmosphere changed.
Every movement of the body held meaning, sharpening the senses of the viewer.

In a state of surprise and elation,
the time flew by.

And after the performance,
an unexpected "encounter" occurred.

An encounter that was destined, not accidental

The person introduced to me was Yamakai, a professional ballet dancer, YouTuber, and video creator who continues to share his work globally.

It was a very brief time.

Despite my nervousness, I was able to discuss a few things about the brand and manufacturing.

I didn't say much.
However, that time was certainly special.

Values conveyed through every word.
A sincere attitude towards expression.

When I encountered these,
I felt a sense of commonality somewhere.

This encounter later became a major turning point for NO SIGN.

Following the Miyazaki performance, we began to communicate regularly,
which naturally led to this collaborative photoshoot.

Why different worlds resonated

NO SIGN develops products with a travel theme.

Yamakai continues to send messages to the world through the expression of ballet.

At first glance, they seem to be in different fields,
but at their core was a shared "aesthetic."

The theme this time is,

"Just right."

This is a sensation that Yamakai always values.

Neither excessive nor insufficient.
A comfortable state without unnecessary embellishment.

This deeply overlaps with the philosophy that NO SIGN embodies in its brand name:

"Essential design that doesn't over-assert itself."

The moment ballet and leather overlapped

The supple curved beauty of ballet movements.

The quiet and minimalist presence of NO SIGN's leather.

At first glance, they seemed far apart,
but when placed side by side, they harmonized surprisingly naturally.

Beauty born from movement.
Presence residing within negative space.

Both assert themselves without being overbearing,
leaving a definite impression.

“Beauty resides in everyday movements”

This collaboration is not merely a product introduction.

What we wanted to convey was that

“Beauty is born in the casual movements of everyday life.”

Holding a bag.
Taking out a wallet.
Walking, sitting, turning around.

Each of these actions
becomes a little more beautiful.

Yamakai's supple aesthetic sense,
and NO SIGN's quiet design.

When these two converge,
leather goods transform from mere tools
into "presences that refine movement."

Reasons why Yamakai chooses them for everyday use

When choosing something, there is always a reason.

Beyond functionality and design, there's the feeling of "is it natural for me?"

This is precisely why Yamakai chose NO SIGN.

No forcing.
No overreaching.
Yet, there is beauty.

That balance fits into everyday life.
